The fifth program of the South Carolina Historical Society 2014 Winter Lecture Series: “People You Should Know: Remarkable South Carolinians, 1700-1860”

“Rebecca Brewton Motte: Revolutionary South Carolinian”
Presented by Alexia Jones Helsley

See the Historical Society’s Events page for a full list of presentations in this amazing series:

Rebecca Brewton Motte was a true Patriot sorely put upon by the British during the Revolution. However, much of the coverage you’ll find of her on the internet is just a quiant telling of her willingness to burn her house down in furtherance of the cause. I look forward to seeing how Alexia Jones Helsley covers this facinating woman.

Hope to see you there!
